When did you start working at Atlantic Vet? June 1994
What made you decide to work with animals? It wasn't really a decision, I was born to work with animals.
If this wasn't your career, what would you be doing? I would be teaching.
My job would be easier if ... pets outlived their humans.
When I'm not at work you might find me ... in a kitchen: my own, Lifebridge or my Brother's table.
Aside from working with animals, what are you most passionate about? Working with children and young adults. I believe we all have a responsibility to mentor.
What is number one on your bucket list? Seeing my children grow to lead happy and fulfulling lives.
Where is your most desired vacation destination? The Galapagos Islands.
What was your first pet? A parakeet named "Ticky"

Annie Maley (Rockwell) - Hospital Coordinator
Annie began her career in veterinary medicine while finishing her Master’s degree. While in grad school, she worked at the Framingham Animal Hospital as a client liaison. This experience led her to Tufts University School of Veterinary medicine where Annie supervised the non-medical personnel who supported Tufts Foster Hospital and The Hospital for Large Animals. At Tufts, she met her to-be-husband Jeff and after a few years living and working in Middletown, CT they moved to Marblehead and opened the Atlantic Veterinary Hospital. Since its beginning in 1994, the practice has grown to employ approximately 35 people, and provide service to over 6,500 pets and their families. Jeff and Annie’s greatest achievement, however, is their three boys: Will, Cole and Reid.

Jennifer Bouchard, CVT - Practice Manager
Jennifer received her degree in Small Business Management from Housatonic College in 2004. Throughout her schooling, Jennifer worked in both general practice and emergency specialty hospitals as a veterinary technician. After obtaining her degree and working in the veterinary field she decided to focus on management with-in veterinary medicine.The combination of medicine and management was a perfect fit. Prior to joining Atlantic, she was managing veterinary hospitals in Boston and Connecticut. Jennifer is also certified as a Wildlife Rehabilitator and has a strong passion for all animals. Jennifer moved to the north shore of Boston in 2011 and is enjoying working at such a great practice with such caring individuals. She is an active member of the VHMA ( Veterinary Hospital Managers Association .)

What made you decide to become a Vet Tech/Manager? My love of animals.
If this wasn't your career, what would you be doing? I would be an Interior Decorator.
My job would be easier if ... animals could speak.
When I'm not at work you might find me ... horseback riding, out on the boat or at the playground with my son.
Aside from working with animals, what are you most passionate about? Arts & Crafts, Gardening
What is number one on your bucket list? Skydiving
Where is your most desired vacation destination? Fiji, Thailand, South Africa
What is one item you can't live without? Lip balm and face moisturizer.
What is your favorite holiday? All of them, I love any reason to celebrate.
Rachel Ruggieri- Office Manager
Rachel received a BA in Economics from Dickinson College in the mid 90s. After working for a small wealth management firm in Boston, she came to the conclusion that she needed to pursue her dream: working with animals. Shortly thereafter, Rachel moved to Hawaii and volunteered as a research assistant and studied the behavior and communication patterns of dolphins. Upon returning home to the northeast, Rachel attended Mount Ida College and received a second degree in Animal Science. Her relationship with Atlantic Veterinary began as Veterinary Technician, and after a leaving the practice to start her family, Rachel returned to Atlantic Vet and was hired as the Office Manager. Through Zoetis Animal Health, Rachel recently completed a comprehensive management training program. Rachel's finest accomplishment is her family, her two daughters and husband who reside in Beverly.

When did you start working at Atlantic Vet? From 2000 to 2002 I worked at Atlantic Vet as a technician. I returned in September 2011 as a member of the management team.
What made you decide to become a Vet Tech/Office Manager? It was between animals or kids and I chose animals.
If this wasn't your career, what would you be doing? Working in IT fixing computers.
My job would be easier if ... I didn't have to commute through Salem in October.
When I'm not at work you might find me ... playing chauffeur to my two teenage daughters.
Aside from working with animals, what are you most passionate about? My Family
What is number one on your bucket list? I would love to climb Mt. Washington.
Where is your most desired vacation destination? Australia, really anywhere with my family.
What is one item you can't live without? My iPhone.
What is your favorite holiday? Thanksgiving. Family!Family!Family!
